Choose by the whole journey

The airport’s official ground-transport page links to rail, buses, taxis and other transfer information. Rail can be convenient when your hotel connects well to the city network. A taxi may reduce walking and transfers, particularly with large luggage or a late arrival.

Compare the journey from the arrival hall to reception. Include the terminal walk, ticket purchase, any city transfer and the final walk with your bags. An airport train time alone is not the total transfer time.

Before leaving arrivals

  1. Save the hotel’s Chinese name, full address and telephone number.
  2. Confirm a payment method and keep a cash fallback accessible.
  3. Check that the transport you want is still operating.
  4. Follow the signs for that specific mode, rather than a generic parking sign.
  5. Keep your passport and baggage with you throughout the transfer.

Taxi versus app pickup

For a taxi, join the signed official rank and show the driver the address before the trip. For DiDi or another booked service, read the terminal-specific pickup instructions in the active order. A ride-hailing meeting point can be in a parking area rather than the taxi queue.

Send an entrance or bay number if the driver cannot locate you. Do not cross barriers or stand in a prohibited stopping area to reach the car. Match the license plate in the app before boarding.

If something changes

If the flight lands later than expected, check current departures again. If an app cannot authorize payment, avoid repeated failed orders and ask the airport information desk about a working alternative. If you have limited mobility, ask about lifts and assistance before buying a multi-transfer route.

Keep the airport names clear

Use 北京首都国际机场 for Capital Airport and 北京大兴国际机场 for Daxing when confirming with staff. An onward flight from the other airport requires a separate, carefully timed transfer.
