What does this app term mean?
These are reading aids, compiled from our payment, transport, hotel and translation guides. The surrounding message matters: a successful sign-in is not a successful payment.
- 3-D Secure / 银行验证Bank authentication
- Your card issuer may ask you to approve an online purchase through its own app, SMS or a bank verification page. This is separate from signing in to the wallet.
- 扫码 / 扫一扫Scan
- Open the scanner to read a code. Reading a code alone is not proof of payment.
- 付款码 / 支付码Payment code
- A code you show to the cashier to pay. Keep it private; do not send it to strangers or save it as a travel card.
- 收款码Receive-money code
- Used to collect money. It is different from the payment code requested by a cashier.
- 乘车码Ride code
- A code for a transport service. Check the selected city and activation requirements.
- 验证码Verification code / OTP
- A short-lived check code, often sent by SMS. Enter it only in the service you intentionally requested it from.
- 实名认证 / 身份验证Identity verification
- The service checks identity details. This is separate from choosing an account nickname.
- 小程序Mini program
- A service opened inside a host app such as WeChat or Alipay. It can have separate booking, payment or account requirements.
- 余额 / 充值Balance / top up
- Balance is money held in that service. Top up adds funds. Linking a bank card does not necessarily add to the balance.
- 押金 / 预授权Deposit / preauthorisation
- Money collected or temporarily authorised under the booking terms. Check whether it is a charge or a hold and how release is handled.
- 待支付 / 支付中Awaiting payment / processing
- The task has not necessarily completed. Inspect transaction details before starting another payment.
- 退款中 / 已退款Refund processing / refunded
- The service's refund status. Your card statement may update separately; check with the provider and issuer.
- 取消 / 确认Cancel / confirm
- Read what is being cancelled or confirmed. Closing a dialog and cancelling a paid booking are different actions.
- 人民币 / 元 / CNY / RMBChinese currency
- CNY is the currency code; RMB abbreviates renminbi; yuan is the unit. Check which currency a booking total actually uses.
