If your usual service cannot load after arrival, use the map prepared beforehand and ask staff to confirm the route. Network access and map accuracy are different questions; loading a page does not establish that every local detail is current.
A practical pre-trip test
Search the airport, hotel branch and first railway station. Open a sample walking route and a metro route. Check that you can identify the destination and explain it to another person. This is preparation, not proof that every live route will work after arrival.
Keep an offline card
Save the hotel’s Chinese name, street address, telephone number and entrance note with the address-card tool. When directions conflict with signs or barriers, stop and ask; do not follow a map through a closed or unsafe area.
