Keep Pudong Airport, Hongqiao Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station separate. Use the metro map to choose your hotel connection.
Airport to city
PVG is Pudong International Airport (浦东国际机场). SHA is Hongqiao International Airport (虹桥国际机场). Metro Line 2 links the city with Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Terminal 2; check your terminal and onward transfer before setting off.
Find the destination in Chinese, then check the line number, direction and exit. Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 and Hongqiao Railway Station are different stops.
Choose the right train station
Use the full name on your ticket. East, West, North and South are different stations.
Shanghai Hongqiao 上海虹桥
Most Beijing–Shanghai corridor journeys use this station. It is not Shanghai Railway Station.
Shanghai Railway Station 上海站
A separate central-city terminal. Match the full station name to your ticket.
At Pudong or Hongqiao, follow the official taxi signs or the pickup location in your ride app. A map pin inside a terminal is not necessarily a pickup point.

Save the Chinese hotel name, street address and nearest metro exit before arriving.
